The Spot Membership Club (“the club” or “the licensor”) 1 August 2025

To whom it may concern 

Further to your application for a license from the CLUB for the private premises which you manage at the premises, we advise as follows: 

1. We have conducted an inspection of the private premises pursuant to your application for the premises to be granted a license as a private members cannabis club under the South African law, including the Cannabis for Private Purposes Act No 7 of 2024, the enabling legislation envisaged by Zondo CJ in the decided Constitutional Court cases on the lawfulness of sharing cannabis products in a private space. 

2. Persons were permitted to receive THC products only if they were paid-up adult members with verified ID. 

2.1 The procedures whereby prospective members were required to agree with the CLUB that they would adhere to the Rules and Regulations of the club pursuant to the Constitution of the CLUB were adhered to by store management. 

2.2 In terms of such procedures, members were required to produce ID to establish their credentials as adult members in good standing before acquiring THC products. 2.3 Club officials manning the store were cognizant of the absolute requirement that no access to THC products could be granted to minors nor to persons who were unable to validate their membership. 

2.4 The THC products were not made available to members of the public who were unable to provide proof of their membership in the CLUB.

3. In all the circumstances, we have the pleasure in advising you that at a meeting of the  CLUB today, the private members club at the above premises has been granted a license  by the CLUB. From time to time, we shall conduct inspections at the licensed premises  to ensure compliance with the conditions of the CLUB, its constitution and the law.
